Patricia Sandberg is doing the Ride to Conquer Cancer in June with her son. This is the 3rd year that her family has participated in the Ride. This week, following some fun in the sun down south, she was back on her bike and yesterday she did a 55 km ride. And more exciting, with another donation today, she has now raised over $8,900 - just over $1000 short of her goal of $10,000.
The Ride To Conquer Cancer is a two-day, 250 km ride from Vancouver to Seattle. 2500 people setting out on their bikes, with the yellow flags of cancer survivors bobbing in their midst, all with their individual reasons for doing the Ride but all with one goal - to beat cancer. The emotional impact of this event is huge, the financial impact is even larger. Last year over $9 million was raised for cancer research and patient support in BC. Hopefully this year it will be even bigger.
If you can find a few dollars to contribute to Patricia's Ride, you will have the satisfaction of being a donor and a participant in a huge groundswell of action against cancer. And to show our appreciation for your generosity, you will receive a 15% discount on any purchase of jewelry from Bells on Toes. |
